    Verse 1
    الۤمۤ

    Alif-Laaam-Meeem

    Translation

    Alif, Lam, Meem.
    Verse 2
    تَنزِیلُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ لَا رَیۡبَ فِیهِ مِن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ

    Pronunciation

    Tanzeelul Kitaabi 'laaraiba feehi mir rabbil 'aalameen

    Translation

    [This is] the revelation of the Book about which there is no doubt from the Lord of the worlds.
    Verse 3
    أَمۡ یَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۚ بَلۡ هُوَ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوۡمࣰا مَّاۤ أَتَىٰهُم مِّن نَّذِیرࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَهۡتَدُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Am yaqooloonaf taraahu bal huwal haqqu mir rabbika litunzira qawma maaa ataahum min nazeerim min qablika la'allahum yahtadoon

    Translation

    Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, [O Muhammad], that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you [so] perhaps they will be guided.
    Verse 4
    ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰ⁠تِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَا فِی سِتَّةِ أَیَّامࣲ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ مَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَلِیࣲّ وَلَا شَفِیعٍۚ أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Allaahul lazee khalaqas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaa fee sittati ayyaam;Thummas tawaa 'alal 'arsh; maa lakum min doonihee minw-wwaliyyinw-wala shafee'; afala tatazakkaroon

    Translation

    It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days; then He established Himself above the Throne. You have not besides Him any protector or any intercessor; so will you not be reminded?
    Verse 5
    یُدَبِّرُ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ثُمَّ یَعۡرُجُ إِلَیۡهِ فِی یَوۡمࣲ كَانَ مِقۡدَارُهُۥۤ أَلۡفَ سَنَةࣲ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ

    Pronunciation

    Yudabbirul amra minas samaaa'i ilal ardi Thumma ya'ruju ilai Thumma ya'ruju ilaihi fee yawmin kaana miqdaaruhoooo alfa sanatim mimmaa ta'uddoon

    Translation

    He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count.
    Verse 6
    ذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ عَـٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ

    Pronunciation

    Zaalika 'aalimul ghaybi wa shahaadatil 'azeezur raheem

    Translation

    That is the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
    Verse 7
    ٱلَّذِیۤ أَحۡسَنَ كُلَّ شَیۡءٍ خَلَقَهُۥۖ وَبَدَأَ خَلۡقَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنِ مِن طِینࣲ

    Pronunciation

    Allazee ahsana kulla shai in khalaqa; wa bada a khalqal insaani min teen

    Translation

    Who perfected everything which He created and began the creation of man from clay.
    Verse 8
    ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسۡلَهُۥ مِن سُلَـٰلَةࣲ مِّن مَّاۤءࣲ مَّهِینࣲ

    Pronunciation

    Thumma ja'ala naslahoo min sulaalatim mim maaa'immaheen

    Translation

    Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained.
    Verse 9
    ثُمَّ سَوَّىٰهُ وَنَفَخَ فِیهِ مِن رُّوحِهِۦۖ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَۚ قَلِیلࣰا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Thumma sawwaahu wa nafakha feehi mir roohihih; wa ja'ala lakumus sam'a wal-absaara wal-af'idah; taqaleelam maa tashkuroon

    Translation

    Then He proportioned him and breathed into him from His [created] soul and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful.
    Verse 10
    وَقَالُوۤا۟ أَءِذَا ضَلَلۡنَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَءِنَّا لَفِی خَلۡقࣲ جَدِیدِۭۚ بَلۡ هُم بِلِقَاۤءِ رَبِّهِمۡ كَـٰفِرُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Wa qaalooo 'a-izaa dalalnaa fil ardi 'a-innaa lafee khalqin jadeed; bal hum biliqaaa'i rabbihim kaafirroon

    Translation

    And they say, "When we are lost within the earth, will we indeed be [recreated] in a new creation?" Rather, they are, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, disbelievers.
    Verse 11
    ۞ قُلۡ یَتَوَفَّىٰكُم مَّلَكُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ ٱلَّذِی وُكِّلَ بِكُمۡ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمۡ تُرۡجَعُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Qul yatawaffaakum malakul mawtil lazee wukkila bikum Thumma ilaa rabbikum turja'oon

    Translation

    Say, "The angel of death will take you who has been entrusted with you. Then to your Lord you will be returned."
    Verse 12
    وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰۤ إِذِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ نَاكِسُوا۟ رُءُوسِهِمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ رَبَّنَاۤ أَبۡصَرۡنَا وَسَمِعۡنَا فَٱرۡجِعۡنَا نَعۡمَلۡ صَـٰلِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Wa law taraaa izil mujrimoona naakisoo ru'oosihim 'inda rabbihim rabbanaaa absarnaa wa sami'naa farji'naa na'mal saalihan innaa mooqinoon

    Translation

    If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain."
    Verse 13
    وَلَوۡ شِئۡنَا لَـَٔاتَیۡنَا كُلَّ نَفۡسٍ هُدَىٰهَا وَلَـٰكِنۡ حَقَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ مِنِّی لَأَمۡلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجۡمَعِینَ

    Pronunciation

    Wa law shi'naa la-aatainaa kulla nafsin hudaahaa wa laakin haqqal qawlu minnee la amla'anna jahannama minal jinnati wannaasi ajma'een

    Translation

    And if We had willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me will come into effect [that] "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and people all together.
    Verse 14
    فَذُوقُوا۟ بِمَا نَسِیتُمۡ لِقَاۤءَ یَوۡمِكُمۡ هَـٰذَاۤ إِنَّا نَسِینَـٰكُمۡۖ وَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلۡخُلۡدِ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Fazooqoo bimaa naseetum liqaaa'a yawminkum haaza innaa naseenaakum wa zooqoo 'azaabal khuldi bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

    Translation

    So taste [punishment] because you forgot the meeting of this, your Day; indeed, We have [accordingly] forgotten you. And taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do."
    Verse 15
    إِنَّمَا یُؤۡمِنُ بِـَٔایَـٰتِنَا ٱلَّذِینَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهَا خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدࣰا وَسَبَّحُوا۟ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَهُمۡ لَا یَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ ۩

    Pronunciation

    Innamaa yu'minu bi aayaatinal lazeena izaa zukkiroo bihaa kharroo sujjadanw wa sabbahoo bihamdi rabbihim wa hum laa yastakbiroon

    Translation

    Only those believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration and exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord, and they are not arrogant.
    Verse 16
    تَتَجَافَىٰ جُنُوبُهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمَضَاجِعِ یَدۡعُونَ رَبَّهُمۡ خَوۡفࣰا وَطَمَعࣰا وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ یُنفِقُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Tatajaafaa junoobuhum 'anil madaaji'i yad'oona rabbahum khawfanw wa tama'anw wa mimmaa razaqnaahum yunfiqoon

    Translation

    They arise from [their] beds; they supplicate their Lord in fear and aspiration, and from what We have provided them, they spend.
    Verse 17
    فَلَا تَعۡلَمُ نَفۡسࣱ مَّاۤ أُخۡفِیَ لَهُم مِّن قُرَّةِ أَعۡیُنࣲ جَزَاۤءَۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Falaa ta'lamu nafsum maaa ukhfiya lahum min qurrati a'yunin jazaaa'am bimaa kaanoo ya'maloon

    Translation

    And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes as reward for what they used to do.
    Verse 18
    أَفَمَن كَانَ مُؤۡمِنࣰا كَمَن كَانَ فَاسِقࣰاۚ لَّا یَسۡتَوُۥنَ

    Pronunciation

    Afaman kaana mu'minan kaman kaana faasiqaa; laa yasta woon

    Translation

    Then is one who was a believer like one who was defiantly disobedient? They are not equal.
    Verse 19
    أَمَّا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَلَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتُ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰ نُزُلَۢا بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Ammal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati falahum jannaatul maawa nuzulam bimaa kaanoo ya'maloon

    Translation

    As for people who believed and did righteous deeds, for them will be the Gardens of Refuge as accommodation for what they used to do.
    Verse 20
    وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِینَ فَسَقُوا۟ فَمَأۡوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُۖ كُلَّمَاۤ أَرَادُوۤا۟ أَن یَخۡرُجُوا۟ مِنۡهَاۤ أُعِیدُوا۟ فِیهَا وَقِیلَ لَهُمۡ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٱلَّذِی كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Wa ammal lazeena fasaqoo famaawaahumn Naaru kullamaaa araadooo any yakhrujoo minhaaa u'eedoo feehaa wa qeela lahum zooqoo 'zaaaban Naaril lazee kuntum bihee tukazziboon

    Translation

    But as for people who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they wish to emerge from it, they will be returned to it while it is said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny."
    Verse 21
    وَلَنُذِیقَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَدۡنَىٰ دُونَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Wa lanuzeeqan nahum minal 'azaabil ladnaa doonal 'azaabil akbari la'allahum yarji'oon

    Translation

    And we will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will repent.
    Verse 22
    وَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّن ذُكِّرَ بِـَٔایَـٰتِ رَبِّهِۦ ثُمَّ أَعۡرَضَ عَنۡهَاۤۚ إِنَّا مِنَ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ مُنتَقِمُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Wa man azlamu mimman zukkira bi aayaati rabbihee summa a'rada 'anhaa; innaa minal mujrimeena muntaqimmon

    Translation

    And who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord; then he turns away from them? Indeed We, from the criminals, will take retribution.
    Verse 23
    وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ فَلَا تَكُن فِی مِرۡیَةࣲ مِّن لِّقَاۤىِٕهِۦۖ وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ هُدࣰى لِّبَنِیۤ إِسۡرَ ٰ⁠ۤءِیلَ

    Pronunciation

    Wa laqad aayainaa Moosal Kitaaba falaa takun fee miryatim mil liqaaa'ihee wa ja'alnaahu hudal li Baneee Israaa'eel

    Translation

    And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so do not be in doubt over his meeting. And we made the Torah guidance for the Children of Israel.
    Verse 24
    وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ أَىِٕمَّةࣰ یَهۡدُونَ بِأَمۡرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُوا۟ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ بِـَٔایَـٰتِنَا یُوقِنُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Wa ja'alnaa minhum a'immatany yahdoona bi amrinaa lammaa sabaroo wa kaanoo bi aayaatinaa yooqinoon

    Translation

    And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs.
    Verse 25
    إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ یَفۡصِلُ بَیۡنَهُمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ فِیمَا كَانُوا۟ فِیهِ یَخۡتَلِفُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Inna rabbaka huwa yafsilu bainahum yawmal qiyaamati feemaa kaanoo feehi yakhtalifoon

    Translation

    Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.
    Verse 26
    أَوَلَمۡ یَهۡدِ لَهُمۡ كَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ یَمۡشُونَ فِی مَسَـٰكِنِهِمۡۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ لَـَٔایَـٰتٍۚ أَفَلَا یَسۡمَعُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Awalam yahdi lahum kam ahlaknaa min qablihim minal qurooni yamshoona fee zaalika la aayaatin afalaa yasma'oon

    Translation

    Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, [as] they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs; then do they not hear?
    Verse 27
    أَوَلَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟ أَنَّا نَسُوقُ ٱلۡمَاۤءَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلۡجُرُزِ فَنُخۡرِجُ بِهِۦ زَرۡعࣰا تَأۡكُلُ مِنۡهُ أَنۡعَـٰمُهُمۡ وَأَنفُسُهُمۡۚ أَفَلَا یُبۡصِرُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Awalam yaraw annaa nasooqul maaa'a ilal lardil juruzi fanukhriju bihee zar'an taakulu minhu an'aamuhum wa anfusuhum afalaa yubsiroon

    Translation

    Have they not seen that We drive the water [in clouds] to barren land and bring forth thereby crops from which their livestock eat and [they] themselves? Then do they not see?
    Verse 28
    وَیَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡفَتۡحُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ

    Pronunciation

    Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal fat hu in kuntum saadiqeen

    Translation

    And they say, "When will be this conquest, if you should be truthful?"
    Verse 29
    قُلۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَتۡحِ لَا یَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ إِیمَـٰنُهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یُنظَرُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Qul yawmal fat hi laa yanfa'ul lazeena kafarooo eemaanuhum wa laa hum yunzaroon

    Translation

    Say, [O Muhammad], "On the Day of Conquest the belief of people who had disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be reprieved."
    Verse 30
    فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنۡهُمۡ وَٱنتَظِرۡ إِنَّهُم مُّنتَظِرُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Fa a'rid 'anhum wantazir innahum muntazirron

    Translation

    So turn away from them and wait. Indeed, they are waiting.
