    سُورَةُ الانشِقَاقِ

    Verse 1
    إِذَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ

    Pronunciation

    Izas samaaa'un shaqqat

    Translation

    When the sky has split [open]
    Verse 2
    وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ

    Pronunciation

    Wa azinat li Rabbihaa wa huqqat

    Translation

    And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
    Verse 3
    وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ

    Pronunciation

    Wa izal ardu muddat

    Translation

    And when the earth has been extended
    Verse 4
    وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِیهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ

    Pronunciation

    Wa alqat maa feehaa wa takhallat

    Translation

    And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]

    وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ

    Pronunciation

    Wa azinat li Rabbihaa wa huqqat

    Translation

    And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] -
    Verse 6
    یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحࣰا فَمُلَـٰقِیهِ

    Pronunciation

    Yaaa ayyuhal insaanu innaka kaadihun ilaa Rabbika kad han famulaaqeeh

    Translation

    O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it.
    Verse 7
    فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِیَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِیَمِینِهِۦ

    Pronunciation

    Fa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo biyameenih

    Translation

    Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,
    Verse 8
    فَسَوۡفَ یُحَاسَبُ حِسَابࣰا یَسِیرࣰا

    Pronunciation

    Fasawfa yuhaasabu hi saabai yaseeraa

    Translation

    He will be judged with an easy account
    Verse 9
    وَیَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰۤ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورࣰا

    Pronunciation

    Wa yanqalibu ilaaa ahlihee masrooraa

    Translation

    And return to his people in happiness.
    Verse 10
    وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِیَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَاۤءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ

    Pronunciation

    Wa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo waraaa'a zahrih

    Translation

    But as for he who is given his record behind his back,
    Verse 11
    فَسَوۡفَ یَدۡعُوا۟ ثُبُورࣰا

    Pronunciation

    Fasawfa yad'oo subooraa

    Translation

    He will cry out for destruction
    Verse 12
    وَیَصۡلَىٰ سَعِیرًا

    Pronunciation

    Wa yaslaa sa'eeraa

    Translation

    And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.
    Verse 13
    إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِیۤ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا

    Pronunciation

    Innahoo kaana feee ahlihee masrooraa

    Translation

    Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;
    Verse 14
    إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن یَحُورَ

    Pronunciation

    Innahoo zanna al lai yahoor

    Translation

    Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah].
    Verse 15
    بَلَىٰۤۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِیرࣰا

    Pronunciation

    Balaaa inna Rabbahoo kaana bihee baseeraa

    Translation

    But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing.
    Verse 16
    فَلَاۤ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ

    Pronunciation

    Falaaa uqsimu bishshafaq

    Translation

    So I swear by the twilight glow
    Verse 17
    وَٱلَّیۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ

    Pronunciation

    Wallaili wa maa wasaq

    Translation

    And [by] the night and what it envelops
    Verse 18
    وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ

    Pronunciation

    Walqamari izat tasaq

    Translation

    And [by] the moon when it becomes full
    Verse 19
    لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقࣲ

    Pronunciation

    Latarkabunna tabaqan 'an tabaq

    Translation

    [That] you will surely experience state after state.
    Verse 20
    فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Famaa lahum laa yu'minoon

    Translation

    So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe,
    Verse 21
    وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا یَسۡجُدُونَ ۩

    Pronunciation

    Wa izaa quri'a 'alaihimul Quraanu laa yasjudoon

    Translation

    And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]?
    Verse 22
    بَلِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ یُكَذِّبُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Balil lazeena kafaroo yukazziboon

    Translation

    But people who have disbelieved deny,
    Verse 23
    وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا یُوعُونَ

    Pronunciation

    Wallaahu a'lamu bimaa yoo'oon

    Translation

    And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves.
    Verse 24
    فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِیمٍ

    Pronunciation

    Fabashshirhum bi'azaabin aleem

    Translation

    So give them tidings of a painful punishment,
    Verse 25
    إِلَّا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَیۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ

    Pronunciation

    Illal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lahum ajrun ghairu mamnoon

    Translation

    Except for people who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted.
