    سُورَةُ الطَّارِقِ

    Verse 1
    وَٱلسَّمَاۤءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

    Pronunciation

    Wassamaaa'i wattaariq

    Translation

    By the sky and the night comer -
    Verse 2
    وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

    Pronunciation

    Wa maaa adraaka mattaariq

    Translation

    And what can make you know what is the night comer?
    Verse 3
    ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

    Pronunciation

    Annajmus saaqib

    Translation

    It is the piercing star -
    Verse 4
    إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ لَّمَّا عَلَیۡهَا حَافِظࣱ

    Pronunciation

    In kullu nafsil lammaa 'alaihaa haafiz

    Translation

    There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.
    Verse 5
    فَلۡیَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ

    Pronunciation

    Fal yanzuril insaanu mimma khuliq

    Translation

    So let man observe from what he was created.
    Verse 6
    خُلِقَ مِن مَّاۤءࣲ دَافِقࣲ

    Pronunciation

    Khuliqa mim maaa'in daafiq

    Translation

    He was created from a fluid, ejected,

    یَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بَیۡنِ ٱلصُّلۡبِ وَٱلتَّرَاۤىِٕبِ

    Pronunciation

    Yakhruju mim bainissulbi wat taraaa'ib

    Translation

    Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.
    Verse 8
    إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجۡعِهِۦ لَقَادِرࣱ

    Pronunciation

    Innahoo 'alaa raj'ihee laqaadir

    Translation

    Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able.
    Verse 9
    یَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَاۤىِٕرُ

    Pronunciation

    Yawma tublas saraaa'ir

    Translation

    The Day when secrets will be put on trial,
    Verse 10
    فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةࣲ وَلَا نَاصِرࣲ

    Pronunciation

    Famaa lahoo min quwwatinw wa laa naasir

    Translation

    Then man will have no power or any helper.
    Verse 11
    وَٱلسَّمَاۤءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ

    Pronunciation

    Wassamaaa'i zaatir raj'

    Translation

    By the sky which returns [rain]
    Verse 12
    وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ

    Pronunciation

    Wal ardi zaatis sad'

    Translation

    And [by] the earth which cracks open,
    Verse 13
    إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلࣱ فَصۡلࣱ

    Pronunciation

    Innahoo laqawlun fasl

    Translation

    Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement,
    Verse 14
    وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ

    Pronunciation

    Wa maa huwa bil hazl

    Translation

    And it is not amusement.
    Verse 15
    إِنَّهُمۡ یَكِیدُونَ كَیۡدࣰا

    Pronunciation

    Innahum yakeedoona kaidaa

    Translation

    Indeed, they are planning a plan,
    Verse 16
    وَأَكِیدُ كَیۡدࣰا

    Pronunciation

    Wa akeedu kaidaa

    Translation

    But I am planning a plan.
    Verse 17
    فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَیۡدَۢا

    Pronunciation

    Famahhilil kaafireena amhilhum ruwaidaa

    Translation

    So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.
